William Stryker

William Stryker Jr. was a covert operations specialist and military scientist. Known for his anti-mutant stance, he worked tirelessly over several decades to develop solutions to what he saw as the "mutant problem". He is responsible for the creation of Wolverine's metal claws and of Deadpool's Baraka-based clone. Ironically enough, he himself was part of the problem as only males can pass the mutant gene to their offspring. Because of this, William's son, Jason Stryker, was born a mutant himself. Nonetheless, Stryker was eventually revealed to have made business connections with the subversive terrorist organization HYDRA in order to get both the Weapon X program and the Sentinel Initiative developed properly with their support in the government. It is currently unknown, however, how much Stryker realized just what HYDRA's true goals were concerning his pet projects and their dark master's connection to them...
