Grand Director (MCU) — The Grand Director

William Burnside was a former S.H.I.E.L.D. liaison for the U.S. government who idolized Captain America's ideals as a youth, yet sought to eliminate all threats to the U.S. from outside and within. He fell under Alexander Pierce's influence and became a staunch supporter for Project Insight, aligning himself with HYDRA's goals in the process. When the plan failed, Burnside escaped S.H.I.E.L.D.'s radar and came to work under one of HYDRA's various cell leaders. He received the Faustus treatment to ensure loyalty to the grand cause, then injected with a duplicated super-soldier serum to replicate Captain America's powers and bonded to a stark-white iron armor for extra-firepower, becoming the super soldier fascist known as the Grand Director. He is currently the secret head of National Force, an armed, radical Neo-fascist terrorist group designed to attack key locations for HYDRA's plans, and is currently in negotiations with Superior Anton Ivanov to obtain command over the Watchdogs as well.
